Life imitates art

Here it is, a hand-knitted wedding dress, hanging in the window of Northampton Wools, on Pleasant Street in Northampton, Massachusetts, where I was yesterday and today.  Up close and personal is the story behind it all (lower right corner pasted into the shop window):

If you click on the photo you can read the fine print.
This is a beautiful shop, well worth the visit.

Art imitates life, too!

  2. I just put in a request at the library for the book, Planet Wedding, where the pattern can be found. I'm very curious to see if it can be modified to make a dress with a short skirt.

  3. I love this yarn shop (and WEBS) and all the eateries in this great little town. I'm only able to get there about 3-4 yr. but it is fun all the time.

What an heirloom piece this is! So glad you posted about it.

  4. Can you tell me the name of the yarn shop? I want to call them to see how long the dress will be on display. Thanks!

  5. Hi Joansie,
It's Northampton Wools. The phone number is 1-800-584-0087, and the website is http://www.northamptonwools.com/. Linda Daniels, the owner, is on Ravelry--search her name under the "people" tab.

I went to Webs, too. That'll be the next post!
